Montessori Activities
Practical Life
The child learns to take care of himself and respect his environment by practicing everyday gestures: washing hands, watering plants, peeling fruit, helping to prepare a snack, etc. These exercises allow him to build himself while becoming more and more independent, responsible and respectful of those around him. They also help to make the link between life at school and that at home.
Sensory education
Through the exercises practiced, the child's senses are refined, his understanding of the world becomes more precise and subtle. Scientifically designed material allows the child's mind to be oriented towards the discovery of the particular qualities of an object.
Learning Mathematical Language and Mind
This involves learning to read, write and do mathematics. It is often the child himself who expresses the desire to learn to write, read and count. The teacher's role is to provide the appropriate exercises and materials to help the child develop at his own pace. The basic concepts are acquired through fun and high-performance materials.
General Culture
The child is introduced to history and geography as well as zoology and botany. Outings and explorations are an integral part of the proposed program and allow children to discover their environment in a stimulating and structured way.
Afternoon class
Students are in the same class as in the morning, with the same teachers. Thus, children continue to be stimulated in their development and deepen their learning. For the youngest, a nap is automatically offered. All students who wish or need it will be offered this moment of rest.
Group activities
These activities allow children to become familiar with working in a group and to learn respect for others. The cohabitation of children aged 3 to 6 encourages exchanges, mutual aid, cooperation and solidarity. It is beneficial for both young and old. The youngest have "role models" around them to imitate, and the older ones can strengthen their knowledge by helping the younger ones. During supervised recess, children can play safely in the park next to the school.
